Human Portraits

They're not as hard as you think!

Who you draw/paint is up to you - a self portrait is very much encouraged.

Try to avoid reference pictures that have high studio lighting (very little shadow). Images that you have taken yourself are preferred.

What to avoid - we love a baby/toddler photo, but they are notoriously hard to paint due to the lack of wrinkles (wrinkles are good!)

We will be painting in oil paints for this term. Oil paints allow you time to tinker and blend. If you haven't used oil paint before, do not fret - full guidance will be given. We will be painting onto prepped mixed media paper.
